When we invited youth to attend the Transit Citizen Leadership Academy, we reached out to the Oasis Center. They readily partnered with us to give their students the opportunity to take the six week academy. This year, we are happy to share their invitation for youth to join them in their yearlong academic quest to teach Metro high school students about public transit while listening and learning more about youth’s perspective on public transit, including the WeGo Public Transit system.
If you know a student who would like to participate, please share this with them and have them register.
“Oasis Center is currently accepting applications for the 2018-2019 school year WeGo Public Transit Youth Action Team. This is a weekly paid opportunity for high school students. Students in the WeGo Public Transit Youth Team meet with peers in order to learn about, discuss, and advise on issues related to public transportation and youth mobility. Students will broaden their scope of knowledge on public transit. While learning more about public transit, students will activate that knowledge to accomplish transit advocacy goals."
