LA VERGNE – The city’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen Tuesday joined other local governments and Middle Tennessee State University to increase funding for Regional Transportation Authority bus service by allocating $5,484 for the city’s share.

Grant to pay for MCC electric buses

Teslas and Nissan LEAFs aren’t the only all-electric vehicles that you’ll see on the streets of downtown Nashville. The Metropolitan Transit Authority is moving forward with plans to convert the vans and buses on its Music City Circuit downtown circulator route to an all-electric fleet.

‘Open Streets Nashville’ makes for free street party

When I first heard about the “Open Streets Nashville” day, I scratched my head and wondered exactly what it was.

I was told that it would be a day when the city would close certain streets to traffic (in this case 11th Avenue in the Gulch for a few hours this Saturday) and put on a family-friendly street party with a parade, mini-stages, and booths and tents, featuring games, music, food and other fun and fitness activities.
